Jacopo Buzzi

JacopoJacopo Buzzi obtained his Bachelor Degree in 2011 and his Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering in April 2014 at Politecnico of Milan. He spent six months in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, at the Vanderbilt University, where he developed his graduation thesis, proposing the Local Magnetic Actuation as an innovative approach in robotic actuation for surgical instruments. After the graduation, he spent 4 months at the Nearlab, designing interlocks between a robot used for teleoperation and surgical tools.

From October 2014 he started his PhD in surgical robotics at the Nearlab; his current research is focused on the study of the kinematics and bio-mechanic aspects of the surgical teleoperation gestures.
