PhD Student

Federica Ferrari is a PhD student in Bioengineering at Nearlab since May 2021. She obtained her MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano with the thesis “A cooperative controller for upper-limb hybrid robotic systems based on Functional Electrical Stimulation”.
The objective of her research is to design and implement novel control strategies to integrate Functional Electrical Stimulation with robotic systems for the rehabilitation of neurological patients.
She is now involved in the FESleg project, in collaboration with INAIL, where she is working on the optimization of a FES-cycling system, in preparation for the CYBATHLON 2024 competition, and on the development of hybrid systems for upper and lower limb rehabilitation.
