The SBLINK -Smart Bio-inspired Link- project wins the Call for Researchers, sponsored by MECCPolimi
The Scientific Commission announced the winner of the Call for Researchers, sponsored by MECCPolimi to support the Department’s researchers to get involved in multidisciplinary research and encourage quality scientific productivity. DMEC decided to support research projects on topics related to LIS4.0 (aka the Department of Excellence).
The Scientific Commission evaluated the projects based on the criteria and scores set in the call announcement. The variety and quality of the projects presented prove the initiative promoted by the Department useful as well as the level of excellence of the research groups involved.
According to the final ranking, the SBLINK (“Smart Bio-inspired Link”) project – submitted by researcher Marta Gandolla – is among the winners of the research funds and will carry on the activity with Paolo Parenti, luca patriarca, Francesco Rosa, Niccolò Becattini and Diego Scaccabarozzi.
SBLINK wants to design and prototype a smart bio-inspired link for the structural assistance of human low-back for the prevention of work-related muskoloskeletal disorders. To reach the goal, a multidisciplinary team has been set with strong background in different and complementary enabling technologies (Biomechanics, Design, Materials, Manufacturing, Sensing and Monitoring)
