Mattia received his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, BTE field, from Politecnico di Milano, in April 2022, with a score of 110/110. During his thesis work, which has been awarded by GNB commission, he worked inside the European Artery project, supervised by Prof. ssa Elena De Momi, with the aim of developing a Robotic actuation platform for a steerable catheter. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Bioengineering in collaboration with Medical MicroInstruments, Inc., focusing on computer vision for surgical robotics assistance.

Computer Vision for Assisted Microsurgery

Mattia focuses on the development of microsurgical instrument tracking segmentation algorithms to be embedded in optical cameras the are employed in microsurgical procedures. He collaborates with Medical MicroInstrument, Inc.
