Chiara Falagario is a Ph.D. student at Politecnico di Milano under the supervision of Prof. Elena De Momi, conducting her research at the Biomedical Robotics Laboratory of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Genova. Her work mainly focuses on the use of electrical bioimpedance for tumor sensing in the head and neck district, aiming to develop intelligent tools for diagnosis and intraoperative support in oncological surgery.
She received both her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Medical Systems Engineering from the Politecnico di Bari. Her bachelor’s thesis investigated innovative procedures in delivery rooms for assisting premature newborns, while her master’s thesis was developed at IIT and focused on the development of a multimodal computer vision algorithm to support clinicians during cognitive rehabilitation sessions.
Before starting her Ph.D., she worked as a Research Fellow at the Italian Institute of Technology, where she explored topics related to biomedical robotics and advanced sensing for medical applications. Chiara has authored two publications, within the CRAS and AIxIA conferences, respectively.
Her research interests include biomedical electronics and intelligent systems for sensor-based operations.
