Xiu received a B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), Xuzhou, China. After, he studied Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB) of Politecnico di Milano, supervised by Prof. Elena De Momi and Prof. Andrea Aliverti.
He is also a researcher in the EU Horizon 2020 research project ARTERY. His research focuses on the modeling and control of the steerable catheter.
Actuation and Control of Soft Robots
Xiu focuses on modeling and controlling a robotic catheter for structural heart cardiology. Particularly, he worked in the context of the Artery European project.
